Pelvic health rehabilitation primarily addresses disorders that are associated with the pelvis, the bony structure between the legs and spine, nerves and the pelvic floor muscles. Pelvic floor muscles provide support for the organs within the pelvis. General pelvic health helps to control the bowel and bladder, plays a role in sexual activities, and provides stability through posture and pelvic floor muscles through their attachments to various ligaments in the pelvis.
Relates to men and women with varying types and degrees of Urinary incontinence or leakage, general pelvic, low back and abdominal pain and pain with sexual activity. Patients may all be experiencing pregnancy related pain and/or weakness.
